Professor Tejs Vegge, DTU Energy Conversion, who is also project leader at DTU CASE, and the former leader of CASE Søren Dahl are the following two Sundays lecturing in Danskernes Akademi, translated into 'The Academy of the Danes', at channel DR K on National Television.
The two lectures focus on two CASE projects, with prof. Tejs Vegge telling about the conversion of CO2 or nitrogen to fuel using solar power or wind turbines on Sunday the 24th November, while Søren Dahl talks about converting sunlight into fuel using a photo-electro-catalytic process on Sunday the 1st December.
Both lectures are shown Sunday at 1 pm to 2 pm on the channel DR K.
Common to the two projects is to develop methods to convert and store renewable energy, in order to have the energy available when the Sun is not shining or the wind not blowing. Also the conversion of renewable energy to fuels makes it possible to use the energy in the transport sector.
The challenge in converting renewable energy in catalytic processes is either the lack of the necessary catalysts or that the existing catalysts are too expensive and/or too inefficient. The goal of the scientists of CASE is to develop new catalysts, which are cheaper, more effective and more durable. And the scientists find their inspiration in the nature surrounding us all.
Watch and listen to Tejs Vegge and Søren Dahl explain about the challenges and the discoveries of their science in Danskernes Akademi.
