Head of department Søren Linderoth from DTU Energy has become a member of the board of the Danish National Committee of the World Energy Council, an organisation working to further the use of sustainable energy worldwide.

Since 1923 World Energy Council has worked to promote a sustainable energy system through, e.g., the publishing of energy reports aimed at stakeholders and the general public, and by arranging the World Energy Congress every third year. World Energy Council has more than 3000 member organisations in over 90 countries, including Denmark. The aim of the Danish National Committee is to communicate the findings of the Council to relevant stakeholders in the Danish energy sector, to inform about international energy-related and environmental issues, and to spread knowledge and understanding about Danish energy policy internationally.

With head of department Søren Linderoth joining the board of the Danish National Committee, its competences within energy conversion and storage will be strengthened significantly. Søren Linderoth states: “It is absolutely necessary for the world to make a transition to an energy system in which carbon plays a much reduced role. Sustainable conversion technologies which can convert electricity from wind and solar to, e.g., CO2-neutral transport fuel will be essential for this. I am pleased to be able to contribute with my knowledge of the field to World Energy Council’s effort to further this transition.”
