Three prizes at Summer school in Entrepreneurship

Tuesday 26 Aug 14
The PhD Summer School Entrepreneurship had 25 participating PhD-students. Four of these came from DTU Energy Conversion, and all four won prizes in the finals.

25 PhD students worked hard and competed for a full week in the first week of August on making the best business pitch on their own ideas within technical science.

The PhD Summer School Entrepreneurship hosted by DTU had many issues: Idea generation, finding markets and applications, IPR, business plan and pitch, company trips and business plan competition – as well as networking among fellow entrepreneurs, lots of fun and the occasional barbecues.

4 PhD students from DTU Energy Conversion, Jonathan Højberg, Andreas Christensen, Dennis Christensen and Emil Pedersen, took part in three teams, and all three teams reached the final with projects ranging from cleaning units for fuel cells over mini-solar panels to Dennis Christensen’s team “Louiminide”, which convincingly won the 1 prize with a business idea on a novel material for touch screens.

All the teams and participants of the Summer School truly impressed the mentors and judges during the week, and this year’s summer school might be the best so far. The summer school was arranged by DTU Photonics, together with DTU Chemistry, DTU Nanotech and DTU Energy Conversion.
