HOT research paper on catalytic membranes for removal of NOx

A recent research paper from DTU Energy showing that electrospun catalytic membranes can remove nitrous oxides (NO x ) from, e.g., diesel exhausts with high efficiency, has been named a top 10% paper by the journal Environmental Science: Nano.

Discovery unlocks ion conductor that is 100 times faster than all the others

A research group at the Technical University of Denmark has discovered a new and stable ion conducting material by merging two known materials, one of which is intrinsically not stable, Bismuth oxide. The Bismuth-based material has a 100 times faster ion conductivity than all previous known solid-state oxygen ion conductors.

Using electrospun nanofibers to counter NOx emission from heavy shipping

Maritime shipping has grown fourfold in 20 years and the pollution from shipping is fast becoming a serious health problem on land. DTU Energy is part of the EU project BlueShip to reduce NOx emissions by inventing a new lighter and more efficient Selective Catalyst Reduction-unit for heavy ships.

Sun’s energy can be harnessed using unstable material

Researchers at DTU Energy Conversion have succeeded in increasing the reactivity of the ceramic material—ceria—a million fold. One possible application is solar concentrators used to convert solar energy into hydrogen.
