AI-assisted, high-throughput synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles for sacrificial-agent-free water splitting

About the project
The goal of this project is to create a new generation of highly efficient nanoparticles enabling the green production of hydrogen by means of photocatalytic water splitting, without need for adding a sacrificial agent to the system. This will be achieved by setting up a high-throughput synthesis system, coupled with fast screening measurements. Machine learning will support the search for optimized materials by predicting the best compositional and structural parameters as well as operational conditions for making the nanoparticles.
The project is a collaboration with the Nanyang Technological University.
